Q: What is a dedicated server?

Dedicated server means that we rent our hardware to the customer, which we place in our server room, provide it with backed-up power, and connect it to the Internet. We remain the owner of the server; the customer manages it remotely over the Internet and never comes into physical contact with it. The owner of the data stored on the server is, of course, the customer. We then take care of the server, but only on its hardware side. We handle disk, memory, processor failures, etc. Repair or replacement of a faulty hardware component is free of charge and entirely at our expense. But note – when it comes to software , we do not take care of that in any way. Installing the operating system, its configuration, security, backups, updates, etc., as well as all other software and services on the server, are entirely up to the customer.

How you connect to the server – KVM / iLO

WEDOS HPE ProLiant DL320 servers use the so-called iLO (Integrated Lights-Out). This is a Hewlett-Packard technology for remote management of dedicated servers over HTTPS.

Using iLO you can perform the following operations:

Hard restart of the server (if the server does not respond to commands over the network)

Power on the physical server

Use the remote management console (KVM)

Access the server’s IML (Integrated Management Log)

You can use RIBCL (Remote Insight Board Command Language) for communication

A command console via the RS-232 port is available

How long will it take for my server to be ready for use?

Setup with us is automatic. Servers that are in stock can be used within a few tens of seconds.

Do you also provide installation and management of the operating system and software for the dedicated server?

No. To operate and manage a dedicated server, you need at least basic knowledge of managing the chosen operating system. Unlike Webhosting, we do not take care of the server. We do not perform software installations, configurations, or customizations at the customer’s request. A dedicated server does not include any software (e.g. a WWW server, PHP, a database, etc.), and we do not install a base operating system either. All installations and configurations are entirely up to the customer.
