VPS ON is a virtual server on the OpenNebula cloud infrastructure. The service is intended for the most demanding customers who need special settings and add-ons not available on Web Hosting , or higher performance, while not wanting to pay higher monthly amounts for a dedicated server. Unlike VPS SSD , which we deliver in modules with a fixed configuration, with VPS ON you can set parameters (RAM, disk size, number of CPU cores) individually. You have full administrator rights on the server; you can install and run practically any software on it.

Server with Linux OS – access via SSH as root user

Server with Windows OS (license not provided) – access via remote desktop (RDP, etc.)

Operating systems

When ordering a virtual server, you can choose one of the pre-installed Linux-based operating systems.
This is always only a basic installation without any additional software.
Alternatively, you can order a server without an operating system. The customer then boots the server after setup and performs their own installation of any system. If the customer installs an operating system that requires a license, the customer is obliged to own such a license and to present it upon request.

Can we install Windows on VPS ON?

Yes, the VPS ON service is more suitable for installing and running the Windows operating system than VPS SSD. However, we do not provide an installer or a license. Support for installation and configuration is limited to the content of the Windows installation guide with VirtIO in the knowledge base.
