We Have Updated the PHP Versions

New PHP versions are now available on our web hosting services (8.4.11, 8.3.24, 8.2.29, en8.1.33). The new versions bring further performance optimisations, more efficient memory handling, and extend the language with new options and features. Thanks to this, modern web applications can run faster, more stably, and with support for the latest development standards.

Before switching, we recommend checking the compatibility of all the plugins, extensions, and content management systems you use, so that your website runs smoothly.

More Privacy and Security for gTLD Domain Owners

On 21 August 2025, new ICANN rules came into effect regarding the handling of personal data for generic domains (gTLDs), such as .com, .net, or .org. The main change is the option to hide personal data in the WHOIS database and the introduction of an anonymised email contact through which interested parties can reach you without you disclosing your real address. The good news is that we at VEDOS have offered this protection for some time, so most owners of our gTLD domains do not need to take any action. CUSTOMER SUPPORT TIP: DNSSEC – Protecting Your Domain Against Spoofing

DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) voegt digitale handtekeningen toe aan DNS-records en verifieert dat de antwoorden van DNS-servers echt zijn en onderweg niet zijn gewijzigd. Zonder DNSSEC zou een aanvaller de bezoekers van uw domein naar een nepwebsite kunnen omleiden; met DNSSEC beschermt u uw bezoekers, uw merk en uw gegevens.

How do you set it up at VEDOS?

• Log in to the customer administration.
• Open your domain’s detail.
• In the Domain Diagnostics tab, check whether DNSSEC is active.
• If not, enable the feature in the DNSSEC Settings tab; the keys are generated and stored automatically.

If you do not want the automatic DNSSEC setup on CZ and EU domains from our side (enabled by default), you can turn it off following the guide here.
