Rebranding to VEDOS Hosting – entering a new era
Our long-term effort to restructure and optimize our services has led to a significant change. Hosting services for the Czech Republic will now be offered under the VEDOS Hosting brand – clearer, more specialized, and even more focused on your needs.
✔ Clearer offering – Easier choices without unnecessary complexity.
✔ Local focus – We are fully focused on the needs of Czech customers and have ambitions to expand into the Slovak and Polish markets as well.
✔ Specialized services – We will focus mainly on providing top-tier shared web hosting, mail hosting, VEDOS WebSite AI, and domain registration.
✔ Faster innovation – By splitting into specialized companies, we gain the flexibility to respond to market challenges much more effectively.
WEDOS will continue to focus on Europe and the world thanks to the WEDOS Global infrastructure. And believe us, we have big plans. This is just the beginning.

WEDOS Global expansion – newly launched locations
Our global infrastructure keeps expanding, enabling even faster and more secure access to your web projects. The newly launched locations bring specific technological innovations that have a major impact on loading speed and service stability for your customers around the world.
Asia – Hong Kong
Launched: 28.02.2025
This location is our second PoP in this Asian region and is built on top-tier HPE ProLiant RL300 Gen11 servers with an Ampere Altra Max M128-30 ARM processor. Each server has 4 TB of RAM and up to 160 TB of storage, ensuring extreme performance and capacity.
In September 2022 we launched one of our first locations right in Hong Kong, which still runs on HPE Moonshot 1500 (with 45 physical servers). This location is critical for Asia, which is why we decided to place another point in the same city.
In total, we have 14 WEDOS Global PoPs in Asia.
North America – USA, Miami
Launched: 28.01.2025
The Miami location significantly improves accessibility for visitors from the North American region, especially in the southern states. Faster page loading and a more stable connection strengthen user trust and help increase the efficiency of your online services.
North America – Mexico, Santiago de Querétaro
Launched: 29.01.2025
Thanks to this location, customers from Mexico and neighboring regions get better performance and significantly faster website response times. This optimization supports content localization and increases overall comfort for end users.
South America – Panama, Panama
Launched: 29.01.2025
For companies targeting the South American market, this new location means optimal availability and service speed. The result is increased user trust and more efficient business communication, which directly translates into higher customer satisfaction.
South America – Brazil, Fortaleza
Launched: 30.01.2025
The installation in Fortaleza strengthens our ability to provide fast and reliable connectivity for clients in Brazil and neighboring countries. This step is key for e-commerce and media projects, where speed is essential for success.
Fortaleza is our tenth location in South America.
WEDOS Global performance optimization – an investment in the future
Our technical team is constantly working to increase efficiency. We have implemented key changes at two WEDOS Global locations, which allowed us to significantly reduce CPU load. This step brings:
✔ Higher capacity for handling complex attacks: Viac zdrojov na ochranu vašich dát a možnosť nasadiť výpočtovo náročnejšie filtre.
✔ Faster website response: Optimalizovaný výkon znamená rýchlejšiu odozvu Anycast DNS a webovej CDN cache, teda ešte rýchlejšie weby po celom svete.
WEDOS Global is gradually approaching the milestone of 100 active locations. Especially in Europe we have better coverage than most hosting companies, because we have multiple locations within individual countries. Further room for speeding things up therefore lies mainly in optimization and direct interconnection with the networks of major internet providers.
Increased security thanks to physical 2FA keys
We are proud that, as part of the WEDOS OnLine and Partner Program services, we now offer two-factor authentication using physical USB/NFC keys such as YubiKey. This innovative step brings you a number of significant benefits:
✔ Unbeatable security: Kľúč je možné použiť len pri fyzickej prítomnosti, čím sa vylučuje možnosť vzdialenej krádeže.
✔ Resistance to phishing: Ochrana, ktorú nemožno obísť online útokmi.
✔ Secure storage: Nepotrebujeme uchovávať tajné kľúče, čo ďalej znižuje bezpečnostné riziká.
Participation in WordCamp Asia (Philippines – Manila)
We are pleased to announce that our brands WEDOS and SODEW took part in the prestigious WordCamp Asia 2025 event, held in Manila (Philippines). This event represents a unique opportunity for networking, sharing innovations, and deepening knowledge of web technologies. This was already our second time at this prestigious event.
A revolutionary step in security: .CZ DNSSEC
We are pleased to announce that we have completed the bulk signing of all .CZ domains with DNSSEC where we had customer consent to do so. As the only registrar, we thus meet the complete criteria for CZ.NIC certification, including the “80% of signed domains” requirement. We are proud of this milestone.
This step strengthens the security of domains with us and supports CZ.NIC’s ambition to become a global leader in domain security.
Renewal of ICANN accreditation – another 5 years of reliability
Uplynulo 5 rokov, odkedy sme sa stali akreditovaným registrátorom ICANN. Podľa zmluvy sme povinní obnovovať svoju akreditáciu každých 5 rokov. 31.01.2025 sme dostali oficiálne oznámenie, že všetky kritériá boli splnené. Vďaka tomu bola naša akreditácia predĺžená o ďalších 5 rokov.
This achievement confirms our long-term reliability and commitment to providing you with domain registration services at the highest level.
