How do I transfer a domain from another provider?

To transfer a domain to us, use the domain transfer order form.

For a .cz domain, changing the registrar is free and does not come with an immediate renewal – the already-paid period will run out first, and only then will you receive a request to pay for the renewal.

For other domain extensions, when transferring you pay a fee according to the specific registry, which simultaneously extends the domain by 1 year. This year is added to the current expiration date, so you don't lose any paid time.

Why is the domain price lower in the first year than in subsequent years?

We set domain prices based on the price lists set by the domain registries. If a registry offers a discounted price for the first year for certain domains, while the price returns to the normal level in subsequent years, we pass this discounted offer on to our customers as well.

Why can't I register a domain?

Accepted Answer

Here are the most common reasons why a domain cannot be registered:
- The domain is registered with another provider. You can recognize such a domain by the Transfer button, which you can use if the domain is yours and you can obtain its authorization code.
- Someone else has already registered the domain. You can only obtain such a domain from its current owner. VEDOS does not broker the sale of domains or provide contact with their owners in any way.
- VEDOS does not offer the domain extension. If you don't see the domain extension you want to register in our price list, unfortunately we currently cannot offer it to you.
- The domain is premium. Some domains are subject to special registry rules, which usually include price as well. We do not register such domains. You can find more information about premium domains and the reasons for their unavailability on the premium domains page.
