Basic information about backups

With the exception of NoLimit Extra Web Hosting, we back up the data of selected hosting services for internal purposes. These backups are not accessible to customers and are not primarily intended for the routine recovery of data accidentally deleted or damaged by the customer. They serve mainly for us in the event of a server or disk array failure when we are forced to restore data.

Under the general terms and conditions, the customer is obliged to back up the content of their services regularly, and to do so outside the Web Hosting space itself. For this purpose we offer the Disk zdarma (Free Disk) service with the Web Hosting and VPS services. You can find a guide to setting it up in the knowledge base.

Apart from the conditions stated for the individual services (Web Hosting Extra, other Web Hostings and server hosting, e-mails), the provision of backups on our part is governed by the following rules:

• Communication regarding restoration from a backup must always be authorised. The customer or a user authorised for the given service must request the data restoration via the contact form from the account under which the service is registered.
• During the communication, a technician will provide the dates and times of the backups available at that moment. We do not guarantee their availability at the moment you confirm the selection of a specific backup, especially if a new backup cycle has run during the communication delay.
• We restore the requested data (files, databases) to FTP, either into a separate folder or by overwriting the existing data. The customer imports databases manually according to the guide in the knowledge base.
• The provision of a backup cannot be claimed as a right.

Template request for the provision of a backup

When sending a request for the provision of an internal backup of a website or e-mails, please supply the following details:

• The name (domain) of the service, for example moje-webovky.tld
• What specifically you need to restore (the whole website, a specific database or e-mail mailbox, …)
• The most precise date and time possible when the data or e-mails were damaged or deleted
• The restoration method (overwriting the current data, or restoration into a separate folder on FTP) – applies to websites only.
• Agreement with the restoration price – does not apply to the Web Hosting Extra service when the conditions for free restoration are met.

Backups for NoLimit Extra Web Hosting

For the higher NoLimit Extra web hosting plan we perform daily backups of the website content and all its databases. Backups are made every night and are available going back 5 days. Restoration from this daily backup is free of charge under the following conditions:

• At least 8 days have passed since the purchase/activation of the Extra plan.
• At least 30 days have passed since the last free provision of a backup.

The restoration is performed by a technician on the basis of an authorised request via the contact form.

Backups for Web Hosting and Server Hosting

For the basic NoLimit web hosting plan (without the Extra add-on service), the LowCost plan and virtual servers we perform weekly backups, i.e. once a week we make a copy of the data to a backup disk array. We restore from the last available backup, which may therefore be 0 to 7 days old. A technician will tell you the date and time the last backup of specific data was made during communication with the customer.

These backups are intended primarily for internal purposes. Data restoration on our part at the customer’s request is subject to a one-off fee of 500 Kč20,83 €100 Zł20,83 $ (605 Kč incl. VAT25,20 € incl. VAT121 Zł incl. VAT25,20 $ incl. VAT). After the data restoration is performed, we will send an invoice with a 7-day due date to the service’s billing e-mail.

The following applies to backups of individual services:

• In the case of Web Hosting we copy the website content and/or databases onto the Web Hosting, where the customer can access it via FTP.
• For virtual servers we do not back up individual files, but the entire virtual disk image. During restoration we overwrite the current disk content with this backup.
• For dedicated servers and WMS we do not perform any backups.

Backups of E-mails

We back up e-mails for all plans of the Web Hosting, Mail Hosting, WebSite and WMS services. The backup frequency is at least once a week, and we provide backups up to 1 week old. The restoration of e-mail backups is governed by the following rules:

• The price for restoring the content of one e-mail mailbox is 500 Kč20,83 €100 Zł20,83 $ (605 Kč incl. VAT25,20 € incl. VAT121 Zł incl. VAT25,20 $ incl. VAT) with the exception of the mailboxes of the NoLimit Extra Web Hosting service, which we restore free of charge under the same conditions as data.
• We always restore the entire content of the mailbox, not individual e-mails. The customer is obliged to ensure there is enough space to carry out the restoration.
